WHO WE ARE
In 1830 the Dusini family founded in Cles, in Trentino - Alto Adige, a small tannery specialising in vegetable leather. Year by year, the manufacturing process has become more specialised in sole leather, creating the famous ‘ELEFANTE’ trademark, appreciated by national and foreign top-ranking shoes producers because of that leather’s flexibility, water resistant features and resistance.
Until the II World War The main market is the local one. At a later stage the production became extended in order to satisfy the national market.
Nowdays globalisation has opened the frontiers encouraging the access to the worldwide market. For this reason, the tannery has adjusted its production to meet the ever-changing market demand, presenting a product that suits the new industrial requirements, and fitting with the GOODYEAR manufacturing.
At the end of the 80s, the tannery decided to start the production of cut leather soles, in addition to the traditional products for sole or shoe factories. This initiative pushed the management to purchase specific equipment and find new customers. For that reason a new laboratory was opened in the Marche region, in Montegranaro, for the sole production.
Pressing requirements from the fashion world, always looking for breakthroughs, created the necessity to propose innovation also as for leather items whereas their extreme flexibility and unusual colours make leather a very modern product.
Technological research has finally allowed the seting up of a particular kind of high-preservation leather called “LORD” which, after a specific treatment, keeps the perspiration of natural leather, though maintaining maximum resistance to water penetration thus making it a “WATER RESISTANT” item.
